AAccelerate for Growth Scotland – moving towards the final 10…

We’ll be in a position to announce the first five SMEs on the AAccelerate program at the beginning of September. These SMEs will work with the brightest and the best that Scottish advertising has to offer. Before our big announcement, here’s a flavour of what we have in store…

Fantastic food

In our final 10, we will definitely feature some food and drink companies. We’ve had some great businesses to look at (and some taste tests too!). The richness of Scottish food and drink is incredible, from meat to fish, oats to crisps, it is all of the highest quality, with provenance at its core. This deserves to be shouted about and AAccelerate is a great way to do it.

Another theme that has featured heavily is sustainability – be this in travel or transport, packaging or tech and beyond. Given the current drive to reduce the use of plastic in packaging and other areas, and the importance of a more sustainable way of living to protect Planet Earth for the future, it is a notable quality of the Scottish SMEs we have considered for the scheme. Some businesses are building their whole model around sustainability and some have it deeply embedded in their core.

Professional services

When we think of professional services, we often think of the Big Four or larger management consultancies, accountants and lawyers. But there are some impressive smaller firms doing lots of great work for clients, providing thought leadership and knowledge in the business community and supporting further, sustainable, economic growth. AAccelerate will help propel this growth even further.

It’s a really exciting time in our AAccelerate project. Alongside colleagues from STV, we are also teaming up with the CBI & Clydesdale Bank to run a workshop for SMEs on the benefits of multi-channel advertising campaigns on 13th September. The link to the event is here.

It’s a free event focused on productivity, growth and the funding environment. It offers a good opportunity to meet investors, business organisations, and peers. Against a backdrop of growing SME confidence in the Scottish domestic economy, the future looks bright.
